چکیده

The system of classification and terminology neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), updated in 2017 by AJCC 2019 WHO, is now recommended for general use. This article a review this with respect to NENs the digestive tract. Within new system, two categories were introduced, differing morphology, clinical course treatment, as based on differentiation histological maturity grading (G). Among tract, well differentiated tumours, Ki-67 proliferation index below 20%, NET G1 G2, histologically resembling normal cells distinguished. Neuroendocrine above 20% – termed carcinoma NEC (poorly G3) found be heterogeneous. In every organ tract limited group tumours but typically less than 55% (well high grade was remaining poorly usually over 55%, classified (high carcinoma). NEC, groups distinguished large cell small carcinomas. By introducing molecular research, any confusion between G3 avoided. goblet-cell carcinoid appendix MiNEN, which should according criteria applied adenocarcinomas their respective organs are not discussed.

Digestive System Mixed Neuroendocrine-Non-Neuroendocrine Neoplasms.

Mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNEN) are a heterogeneous subgroup of rare neoplasms that represent about a third of all poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (PDNEC). MiNEN combine a neuroendocrine component, usually a PDNEC, and a non-neuroendocrine component, generally an adenocarcinoma, both accounting for at least 30% of the neoplasm. MiNEN are classified as h...

Classification and pathology of ic neuroendocrine neoplasms

Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) are composed of cells with a neuroendocrine phenotype. The old and the new WHO classifications distinguish between well-differentiated and poorly differentiated neoplasms. All well-differentiated neoplasms, regardless of whether they behave benignly or develop metastases, will be called neuroendocrine tumours (NETs), and graded G1 (Ki67...

Epidemiology and classification of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms using current coding criteria

BACKGROUND The lack of uniform criteria for coding of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasia (GEP-NEN) has hampered previous epidemiological studies. The epidemiology of GEP-NEN was investigated in this study using currently available criteria. METHODS All patients diagnosed with GEP-NEN between January 2003 and December 2013 in a well defined Norwegian population of approximately 35...
